Created in 2017, CLOWNS was the first full-length production from The No Ring Circus. This ultra-dark evening of non-verbal vignettes follows Fiddles (Daphne Malfitano) and Oboe (Eli Rose) into the void. They play id and ego, and touch upon subjects from suicide to identity crises to organized religion, all through the lens of deep existential dread. Despite the subject matter, the show is surprisingly humorous and was an underground hit when it was first produced in New Orleans in 2017. With added encore performances, and two additional runs between 2017-2018, the show saw The No Ring Circus become the first resident company at The Fortress of Lushington.

Excerpts from the show have also been performed at Nashville’s Marathon Music Works for Music City Burlesque, New York City’s Bizarre Bar for Disasterpiece Theatre, and House of Yes for Blunderland.

The show has a cast of 4-5, and duration of roughly 90min. Listen to the original score here.
